ITINERARY
Day 1 Land in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. You will be met at the airport and transferred to accommodation.
Day 2 Full day of sightseeing around Kathmandu. Explore the maze of shops and bars in the tourist centre Thamel.
Day 3 Kathmandu to Lukla (2695m) by flight. Everest Base Camp Trek begins - descent to Phakding (2610m).
Day 4 Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3480m) a prosperous market town with cafes, bakeries and shops.
Day 5 Acclimatization day. Hike up to Everest Viewpoint Hotel and visit Khumjung village.
Day 6 Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m) home to one of the most famous monasteries in Nepal with an impressive backdrop of Mt Ama Dablam.
Day 7 Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m) a vast, steep glaciated valley.
Day 8 Acclimatization day. Explore Chukung village (5445 m) and enjoy an outstanding view of Everest.
Day 9 Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m). This section offers astonishing views of snow-capped mountains.
Day 10 Today is the day you reach Everest Base Camp (5,364 m)! The final part of the trail follows the spectacular Khumbu Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal. Overnight in Gorakshep (5140), the final stop for EBC trekkers.
Day 11 Sunrise hike from Gorakshep to KalaPatthar (5545m). KalaPatthar offers panoramic views of Mt Everest (8848m), Mt Lhotse (8414m) and other impressive surrounding peaks. After breakfast, the descent starts to Pheriche.
Day 12 Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. Trek through villages of Pangboche and Tengboche, following the Dudh Koshi River. This evening you might like to support the locals and try a massage in the mountains
DAY 13 Today is the final leg - Namche Bazaar to Lukla.
Day 14 Lukla to Kathmandu by plane. Arrive in Kathmandu by midday and transfer to your hotel in the tourist centre of Thamel. Enjoy a free afternoon to relax and recover.
Day 15 Departure day - you will be transferred to Kathmandu Airport in time for your outbound flight.
Optional add-on: Pokhara 3-day excursion
Day 16 Kathmandu to Pokhara by plane. On a clear day this 1-hour scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara offers magnificent views of the Himalaya mountain range. Pokhara is Nepal’s second largest city known for its serene lake and views of the Annapurna Mountain range.
Day 17 Day at your leisure in Pokhara. We recommend visiting the social enterprise Seeing Hands Nepal – a massage centre where blind Nepalise are given training to become massage therapists and later work within the organisation. Enjoy a 1-hour massage here by these talented people! Try one of Pokhara’s adventure activities – paragliding here is incredible.
Day 18 Pokhara - Kathmandu by plane.
Day 19 Departure day - you will be transferred to Kathmandu Airport in time for your outbound flight.
